The Thermal Earth Tube prevents the water line from freezing and must be used when installing an Automatic Waterer. Installed beneath the Waterer and concrete slab, the tube should extend below the frost line, allowing thermal heat from the subsoil to rise and circulate around the supply line. Additionally, the tube acts as an insulated barrier against the cold air surrounding the line.
